PROPEL Graduates Attain New Positions

DAVIE, FL (November 5, 2013) –Twelve Master’s and Specialist Graduates from the PROPEL Program in the Department of Educational Leadership and Research Methodology have moved into leadership roles through promotions and/or the addition of leadership responsibilities for the 2013-2014 Broward school year.

From PROPEL’s first Cohort of graduates, Tauri Eligon was named Interim Assistant Principal at Challenger Elementary School. Shanine Barrow at Royal Palm Elementary School now serves as an Instructional Facilitator. At Apollo Middle School, Sara Pierce was named an Educational Specialist as was Dana Thomson at Cross Creek School. Narissa Edun has added the responsibilities of Title I Liaison, Transportation liaison, and Parent Involvement Coordinator to her role at New River Middle School.

In addition, John Hoolihan now serves at Dr. Martin Luther King Elementary School in the position of Science Coach while fellow graduate Jennifer Prievo is now a Math Coach at Dr. Martin Luther King Elementary School. Seporia Bolden was named the STEM/Science Coach at Park Lakes Elementary School. Jacqueline Pena-Arnaez has been named a Reading Coach at Silver Palms Elementary School and Michelle Laurent from the Quest Center has been serving as AP Designee at Hollywood Central Elementary School.

From the second cohort of PROPEL Master’s graduates there are three students who have received new positions or increased leadership responsibilities. Marie Hautigan is now an Assistant Principal at Fort Lauderdale High School, Barbara Clavijo is now an ESE Specialist at Watkins Elementary School and Adrienne Dixson is the school coordinator of the Promise Program at Pine Ridge Education Center.
