South Regional Education Board Training

SREB

Here at PROPEL we strive to provide ongoing learning opportunities for teachers and education personnel alike. We believe that it is through these efforts that our schools and districts can further develop and bloom into their full potential. As a result of our vision for continuing professional development, PROPEL has contracted two national professional development groups, The Leadership and Learning Center (LLC) and the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB), that have and will continue to provide various trainings for the program.

The Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization headquartered in Atlanta with member states being running throughout several states in the nation. Funded by appropriations, grants, and contracts from foundations, local, state, and federal agencies, SREB has become the nation’s first regional interstate compact for education.

SREB was created in 1948 by Southern governors and legislators who recognized the link between education and economic vitality. To this day, the organization maintains its focus on critical issues that hold the promise of improving quality of life by advancing public education. The region’s track record shows that setting goals and maintaining the commitment to work toward them can make a difference.

Through its contracted work with PROPEL, SREB has not only held continuous improvement training sessions but it instructed the programs participants, professors, and principals in the ways of mentoring, coaching, and teams building.
